Toronto Dementia NetworkAlzheimer Society of Toronto's Programs & ServicesFor over 25 years, our goal has been to offer free support, counselling and information to individuals living with dementia and those who care for them. We are committed to increasing public awareness of the disease and advocating for services that respect the dignity of the individual. Our programs and services are available for people with dementia, family members and caregivers, health care professionals and the public. Our consellors are available to discuss any questions or concerns about the disease, such as getting a diagnosis, immediate or future care, family issues, communication techniques, caregiver stress and coping strategies. You can access this service by phone, email, in person at our office, or by having a counsellor visit with you in your home. Family WorkshopsDesigned for family members to increase their understanding of dementia, workshops are offered throughout the year on topics such as the early, middle and late stage of the disease, caregiver stress, coping strategies, immediate and future care, Advance Care Planning and others. Support GroupsFacilitated by our counsellors, support groups are held regularly for persons in the early stage of Alzheimer's disease, and for caregivers of persons with Early Onset (before 65) Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia or Vascular Dementia. Safely HomeSafely Home™ is a national program run by the Alzheimer Society in partnership with the RCMP, is designed to find persons with dementia who are lost and assist in their safe return home. Dementia Specific Training for Health Care ProfessionalsOur Public Education Coordinators offer training programs for formal caregivers of persons with dementia
who work in a variety of settings including long term care homes, retirement homes, supportive housing,
community agencies, and private homes.

Public AwarenessWe offer free information sessions, education seminars and displays for community groups and agencies, businesses, places of worship and the general public. Information Resources Our Resource Centre has free information resources, books, journals and videos available
