Accepts referrals from clients, families, friends and local health-care and social workers and community agencies.
Hot meals are delivered to a client’s home Sundays to Fridays in the late morning or at noon hour. There is no delivery of hot meals on Saturday, but an extra meal can be delivered on Friday along with the regular fare.
Hot meals are supplied by the kitchen of True Davidson Acres, a senior citizens' centre, and by Ellen's Health Food, a Toronto food-preparation company. A typical entrée consists of: Beef, chicken, pork, fish or vegetarian alternative; Potatoes, rice or pasta; Two types of vegetables or salad; Soup; Bread and Margarine; Dessert
We are able to accommodate clients with special dietary needs and specific intolerances such as diabetic foods, no-salt, soft, puree, renal, lactose-free and gluten-free.
Frozen meals are prepared by Private Recipes. The frozen meals are delivered once a week, on Tuesdays. To order, clients contact the office a week before delivery, by either phone or fax, or by passing their selections directly to volunteers. Clients can order individual frozen entrees, without soup or salad, or packages of 3 to 7 frozen stand-alone entrees.
