Additional Information: Psychiatric Emergency Services are available 24 /7 at St. Michaelís Hospital Emergency Department. The Geriatric Emergency Nurse (GEM) specialist may be consulted for patients over the age of 60 if geriatric issues are present (i.e. dementia, depression, behavioural disturbance) and requested by the Psychiatric Emergency Services. The GEM nurse is available Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Services can be provided in different languages with the assistance of St. Michaelís Hospital Interpretation services. Clients need to notify office ahead of appointment if assistance is required.

Population Served: Persons with memory or cognitive problems of any age. People suffering disturbances in cognitive function and behaviour due to brain dysfunction. Problems may include memory loss, speech and language disorders, as well as cognitive deficits associated with psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression).

The Memory Clinic offers comprehensive diagnostic assessment and follow-up of patients. Initial assessments are provided by a geriatric psychiatrist, behavioural neurologist and a nurse clinician. Services provided include assessment and diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and education. In addition, clients may have an opportunity to participate in clinical research.
Services can be provided in different languages with the assistance of St. Michaelís Hospital Interpretation services. Clients need to notify office ahead of appointment if assistance is required. The Memory Clinic is also affiliated with the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance.
Physician referral can be faxed to 416-864-5480. Please note that a separate memory clinic form is available and may be obtained by contacting the Memory Clinic.

Population Served: Older persons (aged 60 and above) with significant mood, psychotic or anxiety symptoms. Referrals are by internal arrangement only

Additional Information: Psychogeriatric assessment is available on an outpatient basis and to residents of specific long term care facilities affiliated with St. Michaelís Hospital Geriatric Mental Health Outreach Program. Comprehensive assessment, treatment and follow-up is available as necessary.
